Regular Verbs Simplified --- Paper 1 Part 3 (a)

First we have our basic rules

If a verb starts with:
A Consonant - +h
A Vowel - +D'
An F - +D' and +h
These apply to ALL verbs

The rules for Aimsir Chaite:

If the vowel is 'leathan' (the last vowel is an a, o or u)
For one syllable words the ending is -adh
For two syllable words the ending is -aíodh

If the vowel is 'caol' (the last vowel is an i or e)
For one syllable words the ending is -eadh
For two syllable words the ending is -íodh

The rules for Aimsir Laithreach:

If the vowel is 'leathan'
For one syllable words the ending is -tar
For two syllable words the ending is -aítear

If the vowel is 'caol'
For one syllable words the ending is -tear
For two syllable words the ending is -ítear

The rules for Aimsir Fhásteanach:

If the vowel is 'leathan'
For one syllable words the ending is -far
For two syllable words the ending is -ófar

If the vowel is 'caol'
For one syllable words the ending is -fear
For two syllable words the ending is -eofar

The rules for the Modh Coinníolach:

If the vowel is 'leathan'
For one syllable words the ending is -fainn
For two syllable words the ending is -óinn

If the vowel is 'caol'
For one syllable words the ending is -finn
For two syllable words the ending is -eoinn

The Modh Coinníolach has a few exceptions:
- A two syllable word with a fada in the second syllable is counted as a one syllable word
-If the word ends in -igh or -aigh, take it out before putting on the ending
-If there's an 'i' or 'ai' in the verb, take it out and apply the ending

And that's pretty much it, I hope these helped. You can copy and paste them into a word document and print them if you would rather have a physical copy. If there's anything you don't understand or any spelling errors let me know
